The Chapel & Community Centre held the service & funeral for Bill Winters on 5/18. For several years he had been at River Oaks on Lady’s Island before his stroke last week. He died at 91 after living here for 30 years & serving as a volun-teer fireman for 28 years. In Sept, 2 years ago, Bill attended our rededication of the Dixie Winter Audubon Trail after it was rejuvenated through the work of our ‘Activity Center’ staff of helpers. What a wonderful day that was for him & his family - & so I finally got to meet Bill after our many phone conversations. Chuck had known him from his ROMEO lunch days where he found out that they were both graduates from Bucknell University.
