Gvt Health Care & gvt growth

The Gvt Health Care plan is my final topic this month. I found it more than interesting that the Senate needed to vote on a Saturday night, Monday Morning at 1AM and schedule a vote for Xmas Eve - on a bill that will not change health care until four years after it is passed!....And a good number of the votes were bought!        The plan, even though it’s not finalized yet and may have some good merits – is extremely complicated throughout.    PLUS, I’m VERY against almost anything that GROWS the gvt (both in size and expenses).  It bothered me to read USA TODAY & see the figures on the growth of expenses & personnel over the last year or 2 AND the earnings increases- & I’m not just blaming Obama…it’s the fault of the whole team AND the legislators. For those who missed the article, (12/11/09), here are figures as of 6/09 of Federal workers:  # of workers earning $100,000 or more 383,758 or + 46%; # of workers earning $150,000 or more 60,538or 119% & # of workers earning $170,000 or more or 93% increase. It went on the show that the Federal gvt is adding jobs this year at a rate of nearly 10,000 a month! The Fed added 192,700 jobs or a 9.8% increase. The State & local Gvts added 33,000 or .2% increase and the private sector lost 7.3 MIL jobs or 5.3%!      Then there is the disparity in pay raises with the Fed average $71,207/yr or 6.6%, and the State & local gvt at $54,101 or 3.9%, then the pvt sector at $40,331 or 3.9% -    “The number of fed workers earning 6-figure salaries has exploded during the recession, according  to a USA TODAY analysis of fed salaries to date. Fed employees making salaries of $100,000 or more jumped from 14% to 19% of civil servants during the recession’s 18 months AND that’s before overtime pay and bonuses are counted. Fed workers are enjoying an extraordinary boom time – in pay and hiring – during a recession that has cost 7.3 Million jobs in the private sector. It goes on to break down increase in defense dept, transportation dept, etc…  Regarding medical: Most people would agree that the present health system needs improvement, especially prohibiting exclusion for pre-existing conditions & coverage for uninsured. But, now - let’s picture the years ahead with the gvt health plan. In order to manage all the rules & regs they will need to add over 100 new agencies just to monitor the business participation, our patient care, our provider costs, etc. How many of these new agencies will be employing 6-figure gvt personnel with 100s of people under them… & the present insurance people will just add to the jobless ranks. (& the gvt agencies –once they are begun - never get smaller - needed or not)…
