Insurance. SavNow  9/16, “Protect your home-based business” stated, “The standard homeowners ins policy does not cover losses of bus equipment, technology, income, liability exposure, med costs & other risks faced by small business owners. Often at risk are: computer consultants, household product distributors, accountants, architects, RE agents, photographers, tailors & seamstresses, consultants, pet groomers, music/art/dance instructors.  Adding an endorsement to your homeowners policy is the least expensive option, but it must be sufficient if you have a lot of expensive business equipment. AND, it’s usually available only to businesses that have few business-related visitors.  For a checklist of what a home-based bus owner should consider, go to: http://www.giis.org/homebusiness_checklist.pdf
