The Women’s Club Meeting (4/16) was a luncheon (about 60 people) with the installation of new officers & wonder- 2 ful entertainment. Bonnie Combes led the meeting and briefly covered the main events of the past year – the Cake Walk, the health clinic, the donated swings, the $5000 donation to the Community Centre (for décor), the home tour last month which netted $730, of which another $500.went to the Comm Centre. Then she mentioned the program for the marines–cell phones for soldiers & the cool ties workshop (discussed next), member -ship this year was 152, & they are seeking telephone directory volunteers. Following her talk was the installation of officers by Jackie Crews: Nancy Richman and Bonnie Combes Pres, Micki McCormick & Lorraine Tarzinski V P, Sara Thompson Sec and Jane Cuff Treas. Near the end of the lunch was a delightful presentation by the Sea Island Quartet (from “the Beaufort Belles”) who were acappella barbershop harmony to the tunes of “I Love Beaufort”–“Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue”–‘Tell Me No Secrets, Tell Me No Lies’–“All I Have to do is Dream”–“A good Man is Hard to Find”-“Down By the Riverside”–“Do the Locomotion.” Great show!
