Here’s an interesting fact from the 8/11 Morning News from Myrtle Beach: “State transportation officials have asked the Fed. Gvt. For permission to charge tolls on I95. SC is joining FL, GA, NC & VA. However, back 25 years ago, we determined that the cost of some of the tolls in the Phila area bridges and hi-ways only provided salaries for union employees & left VERY LITTLE for maintenance & improvements of the roads/bridges. All the toll booths did was cause congestion & aggravation for travelers & employment for some.
