Coastal Property Care - Kristi Garrison has given me a full page regarding irrigation & lawn care. For a copy, you can email me (rileys@islc.net) or Kristi (coastalcare@islc.net) ...VERY informative. She, & I, believe that people are over-watering their lawns causing fungus & other diseases! She recommends turning the irrigation off after the air temp falls to in the 30's, until mid-March. Also, rain sensors can be installed inexpensively to keep the system off (in season) during & after a rainfall. Though they are not perfect they can minimize high water bills & over watering problems. Why not email Kristi & have her look at your irrigation system to see if a sensor would be good for you? The sensor won’t even cost you $100 including installation by Kristi. (On 10/25 the PSD was meeting with BJWSA water to negotiate a new water contract for all of us on Fripp Island).
