The Beaufort High School auditorium was packed April 10 & 11th for the phenomenal spring concert. There were 45 Voices & 22 Troubadours & their director Victor Varner. It was a fantastic night of music! The pro-gram ranged from Bach’s “Allelluia” to “Wake Up Little Suzy” to Sondheim’s “Sweeney Todd”& showed great talent & spirit.            Also, in Beaufort, on Fri 4/25 we enjoyed the Lowcountry Chorale Singers (local singers group of 35-70 - started in 1997) who have performed classical & lighter music. They present a December Christmas program & an April or May concert (with some Fripp singers like Eunice Caro & Peggy Gorham). This show was “Some Enchanted Evening” with Broadway songs including Rogers & Hammerstein, “Carousel”, “Wicked” & a renowned Andrew Lloyd Webber collection. I really wish all of you could have attended – it was a true delight!

A sunny Saturday, April 19th was the 5th Annual Soft Shell Crab Festival – a Lowcountry favorite, in the Old Village of Port Royal & there were hundreds of attendees. Some of the restaurants included Plums, Bateaux, Barbara Jeans, & C.J’s,  It included other food as well -  and there was music (including shag dancing), craft booths, classic car show with dozens of vintage cars  & fun for the whole family.

Coming up Sat, May 3rd is the annual  A Taste of Beaufort” - with more than 20 restaurants featuring ‘tastes’ of some of their featured dishes & a full line-up of entertainment on the Pavilion Stage. It’s from 11AM-5PM at the downtown Waterfront Park & they are expecting an attendance of 10,000 or more!
